Credits The Intro --------------------- The intro is very strange. It won't make a whole lot of sense at this time. Go downstairs and talk to Ganer (your father). Talk to everyone in the village and check all the cupboards for 2 Herbs and the TreePole. Then go up to the bushes at the north end of town. Walk through the center passage and the game will suddenly turn color. Fight the Beak until Ganer saves you, then answer "Not true!" after some dialogue. Choose to close your eyes, and then return to the village. Nobody recognizes you. Go to the church and talk to Father Hulk. Go upstairs and meet Bow. Go with him and leave Gate. Head up and left to the cave. Follow Barubary (the snake) until he fights you. Lose to him and watch the rest of the intro. HomeTown --------------------- 10 years later, you are at HomeTown. The Elder will assign you to find Mina's pet Suzy. Talk to everybody in HomeTown and check all the cupboards (this is standard procedure). Talk to the Dragon God statue to save your game and go outside. Visit the carnival if you wish, but save it first so you don't waste 30 coins. Money is hard to come by at this stage. You can rest for free in Ryu and Bow's room. Outside, roll up points until you and Bow are at level 3. If hunting spots appear, use Bow to hunt the animals and get very useful Roasts. Hang onto these; you'll need them more later. After you reach Level 3, go down south and walk onto the mountain with the path on it. This is Mt. Fubi. Go into the cave. The fountain here will heal you, so roll up some more levels here until you are at Level 5 or 6. Then return to HomeTown and purchase any equipment you can (Note: the SteelAR is a shield). Save your game and return to Mt. Fubi Drink from the fountain and then keep going north. Follow the path until you come outside. Walk up and fight Palo, Peach, and Puti. Concentrate your attacks on one at a time, and have Bow heal if you get low. They aren't that hard if you're at level 6. After the fight, continue on and push the rock down the slope, blocking the cave. Enter the next cave and follow the path down. Skip the door and keep going down for the SaladBwl helmet (?). Then go back through the door and take the left path for a FireRock. Go down the right path and fall through the hole. Talk to Azusa (he's one of the people you can take to TownShip later) and then go out of the cave. Head east back to the entrance. Return to HomeTown to heal and save. Return to Mt. Fubi and cross the path. Go down the steps by Azusa's cave and to the exit. Walk over to the ruins and enter. Save your game at the Dragon God statue and enter. Beat up the cockroaches, healing if necessary, then kill the big cockroach. Talk to Niro and you will receive Mina's pet pig Suzy. Return to HomeTown via Mt. Fubi and rest. Save your game and then go to the Rangers' Headquarters. Return Suzy and go back to your room. During the night, Kilgore will show up and hire Bow to steal the Magic Hood back from Trout. When you wake up, leave and go up. Pass under the arch and go up the steps. Talk to Kilgore (the guy with gray hair). He will explain what's going on. Return to your room and talk to Bow. Tell him you don't think he stole anything. A soldier will appear and Bow hides in the trash. Go to the entrance and tell the guard you're carrying trash. Go back to the Ruins and talk to Niro. The Coliseum --------------------- Return to HomeTown and rest. Talk to everybody for clues, then head south and cross the bridge. By the way, pressing Select will bring up an auto-map. Go north from the sign and cross the bridge there. You should have learned Cure 1 by now (you could also use Herbs, but magic is free). Enter Coursair. Go to the weapon store and buy any better equipment you can afford (and use). Loot the town and then go to the St. Eva's Church to meet Ray and save. Go into the pub and talk to the guy there who asks you if you want to wait until night. Do so. Talk to the people, then talk to Rand, the armadillo-like guy. He will tell you about Baba, a lumberjack who lives in TagWoods. You'll have to talk to him to get into the Coliseum in his place and fight the girl. Leave town and roll up points until you are at level 8. Heal up and buy a bunch of Herbs. You'll need them. Head north and walk up the path. Walk into TagWoods. When you fight Harpies, kill them first or they'll heal the other enemies. Head left and get the chest, then go up and right for a chest with money. Keep going up and you'll see Baba on the left, but you can't get to him yet. Go right and get the Herb from the chest, then head left. Enter the treehouse building and ride the bucket across. Go down and get the Gold fishing bait from the chest. Hang onto these, there are places where you need them later on. Go into the next treehouse (the one in the upper-right of this section). After getting out, go left and get the Smoke, then go down on the far right. Get the moolah in the chest, then head back up and take the first turn left to reach Baba. Heal up and talk to him to get into a fight. With only one character and no magic, there isn't much strategy here. Just pound on Baba and heal yourself with Herbs and Cure 1 (if you still have any AP). Afterwards, you get the BabaAxe so you can masquerade as Baba and get into the Coliseum to fight Katt. Return to Coursair (or you could just die -- but that costs you half your money). Rest and save, then purchase some more Herbs if you're low. Go to the Pub and kill some time until night. Talk to Rand and he will think you're Baba. Your name now changes to Baba (don't worry, it returns to normal later). Enter the Coliseum. Go up the right and enter the room. Talk to the woman and then go through the door on the left. Beat up the Dir. HR (he's a wuss) and then go through the other door. Talk to Augus. Go back into the main room and head up on the left. Take the door on the right and open the chest. Return to town and store all but 1 C in the bank. Go back into the room with the chest and try to go through the door. Rand will appear and tell what you need to do. Give him the one coin. Enter the arena and fight Katt. Fight like you did against Baba. Remember, she will get her turn before you, so plan your healing accordingly. She also gets critical hits a lot. Katt is VERY tough, so it may take several tries to beat her. You may want to leave and roll up points. After you beat Katt, hold up. When Augus shoots the poisoned needle, you will knock out Katt and save her. Katt will join the party. Buy her some better equipment (you'll have to get your money out of the bank first) and go to TagWoods. Get Katt up a level or two and then return to Coursair. Go into the Coliseum and enter Augus's room. Rand will join, and then you will get into a fight. Augus is a tough boss. He gets two attacks per round, and he can store energy to get an automatic critical hit (with two attacks, he can store energy and then attack) on his next attack. Have Ryu and Katt hit and Rand heal. If somebody's really low, have Ryu or Katt heal because they get to go before Augus does, and Rand goes last. When you beat Augus, leave the Coliseum and return to Niro's house. Nina --------------------- Return to HomeTown and go to the Magic School (up and right from the entrance) to meet Nina. Return to TagWoods to get Katt up to level 8. Remember, she can hunt, but she has to be right next to the animal. Then go back to Coursair to save and stock up Antdts. Head south and head left at the signpost to Mt. Rocko. Enter the cave. Beat up the guard and talk to everybody in the middle and left rooms. You need to figure out the name of the boss's nephew. If you don't want to solve the puzzle, the nephew's name is Pain. Go into the right room and tell the guy the nephew's name. Walk into the next room and stick your hand in the hole. You'll have to fight a guard and a spider. Kill the Hood first, then knock off the spider. Go down the stairs. Head down and get the LuckCndy, then go all the way right and pick up the awesome SilverDR. Go into the door and open the chest for money. Go up and through the door. Follow the path until you get into a fight. The enemies will regenerate, so what you want to do is put one hit on each of them so they are all injured, then kill them. After the fight, Nina joins and you take on the Joker. As soon as the battle begins, switch to Scramble formation. Have Ryu and Katt attack. Nina should heal (with items) or cast Tornado if you're healthy. His Psn. Chop attack is very powerful and may poison you. Don't worry about the poisoning, but do worry about the damage. Ryu and Katt should both be at level 9 or 10. When you beat the Joker, Nina joins. Leave Mt. Rocko (but get the chest that the guy was guarding in the first room for 1000 bucks). Save your game at Coursair (but don't get any better stuff for Nina -- there's another town coming up). Head north and west from the signpost. Keep going until you reach a lake and a river. Go up and enter the DeadAmze. Mina will get you in. Navigate the maze (there aren't any enemies) and you will reach Windia. You will be kicked out of the castle. Go down and meet Sten. After some dialogue, he will join the party. TownShip --------------------- You now have probably the best party in the game. Go the Weapon Store to get better equipment. DON'T sell the SilverDR, instead give it to Sten. Leave town and fight to get some money if you couldn't buy everything. You will also want to get Sten and Nina up a level or two. Look out for the Dethpedes, which are very powerful and can also poison you. You can visit the carnival, but don't bother. If you need to get back to the east of Windia, put Sten in the lead and hit Y at the narrow gap to swing across. Once you're ready, stock up on healing items (buy them or get some Roasts) and head west until you reach Capitan. Do the standard procedure (loot the houses, talk to people, rest, and save), then store all your money at the bank. The next level is tough, and if you die, you don't want to lose all your money (this is generally a good idea before going to a dungeon). After all the bookkeeping, jump in the well. After beating up the Creon, follow Ray. Enter the next room. Ride the turtle across the water to a ledge with a man on it. Ride the next turtle, then take the turtle to your left to reach a chest with a Van.Ext. Ride back, then take the turtle going up all the way to get a Charm. Ride that turtle back down and step off onto the turtle to the right. Heal up, then talk to the kid. The Terapin will appear. This is a VERY tough boss. He will either use a very powerful attack on one character or use an equally powerful earthquake on everybody. Have Ryu and Katt attack, Sten cast Bomb or heal, and Nina cast Thunder. If he uses his earthquake, have any character hit by it heal themself if necessary. When he's defeated, leave the room and meet up with Ray. The dam will break, but Ray will stop the water with his magic. Go down and enter the middle room. Talk to the guy, then leave and go into the room on the left. Enter the room on the right in this room and kill the Creon. Talk to the villager and you will wind up in a fight. Attack only the Chiroru on the guy's face. After saving him, leave the room and save the guy in the middle the same way. Go down twice and you will be in the exit room. Don't leave, go into the room on the right and save the person there. Then enter the right cave (the left one just has a Creon) and kill the Creon, then save the person. Enter the cave and talk to the last guy. Then return to Ray and tell him that you've saved everybody. Talk to everyone in the town, then hike all the way back to Niro's house, now TownShip. Enter and Ray will show up. He will ask you who you want to give the Renew spell to. Talk to everybody and then come back to Ray. The rooms are laid out as follows: 1F 2F 3F Spar Ryu Bow Jean Sten Rand Bleu Katt Nina Go back to Ray and tell him who you want to give the spell to (I recommend giving it to Nina). Katt has basically no AP, Sten only has a little more, Ryu will generally use all his AP on dragon spells, and Bow and Rand learn the spell naturally. Ray will then leave. You can put Rand in the party now if you want, and the Dragon God statues now give you the option of switching characters. Katt, Sten, and Nina is, IMHO, probably the best group in the game, but you should keep all your characters up to a decent level, as there are some points where you are required to use a certain character. Now you have to go all the back to Capitan. Talk to the person standing next to the inn that wasn't there before. You will be taken to JahWoods and meet Granny and Sana. Stand in the circle and Granny will try to unite you, but the woods get torched instead. They will ask you to take them to TownShip. Go back into Capitan and talk to the man standing where Sana was to go back to TownShip. Granny will ask you to get a carpenter to remodel Ryu and Bow's house for uniting. Go back to Capitan AGAIN (the Smoke item will reduce the number of fights). At Capitan, you have to choose one of the three carpenters that built the three different kinds of houses in Capitan. Although the treehouses look cool, I strongly recommend taking the normal house architect, as his special ability is the most useful. After choosing an architect, go to the upper left of Capitan and walk through the gap to get a boat. SimaFort --------------------- Enter the woods to your left and walk through them. You'll meet Jean, who will ask you to go to Witch Tower. Leave the woods through the south exit and go south until you reach a bridge. Cross to the west and enter the small building. You can rest here by talking to the guy and save your game. Put Rand in your party and go west, then north. Enter the cave. Leave your items in the bucket and go through the door. You will asked to leave your helmets. Don't and go through the door anyway. Refuse to obey the note and beat up the guy. Repeat the process in the next three rooms. You don't have any items, so you'll have to use magic to heal (that's why you brought Rand). In the fifth room, choose to have your meat cooked rare. Go into the next room and you will be attacked. Ryu should use T.Puppy and then attack; Rand should heal; Katt and Sten should attack; and Nina should cast her best spell. When you beat the guy, you'll get the ChopChop spell. Give it to Sten. Leave and get your items back from the guy. Go back to the building by the lake and head north. Walk up all the slopes and then go right. Enter the Witch Tower and step on the switch. You will get into a fight. Keep stepping on the switch until the door opens. Don't open the chest or the door will shut. Head left and go up the stairs. Open the chest for CureAl, then go back down to the entrance and head right. Go up the stairs and head left until you come to some stairs. Ascend. You will now be in a room with five platforms. Stepping on the one on the right will take you to a room with the only girl statue. This is Seso, the Water Shaman. Remember this location for later. Step on the next-to-far-right platform to go to the stairs. Descend and open all the chests for moolah. Then go back up and ride the platform back to the bottom. Step on the far left platform to go to the upper-right. Go through the door and up the stairs. Go down and get the Herb from the chest (whoopee!) then head left. Press all the switches except the top one and get the chests. Then hit that switch and go up the stairs. Get both chests by riding the platforms. SAVE THE WISEBL!!!! You will need it at the very end of the game. Go up the stairs, hit the switch, and meet Nimufu (the witch). Nimufu is pretty easy. Ryu should cast T.Puppy on his first turn and then attack, Katt should attack, Sten should use his best spell and attack when he's out of MP, Rand should attack or heal (you probably won't need to), and Nina should cast her best spell. When you beat her, leave the tower (but get Seso on your way out). Return to the Wild Cat Restaurant and get a Stamina. Go back to the woods where Jean was and put Nina in the lead. Talk to him and you will get one of the worst characters in RPG history, second only to Edward in FF2. At this time, TownShip will be completed and you can start getting people. You will probably want to wait until later in the game so you can get better people, however. Put Jean in the party and hit Y to turn into a big frog. Head back to the Witch Tower (but don't enter), then go west to a lake. Jump in and swim down the waterfall. You will enter a secret cave. Get the chests and put Ryu in the lead. Talk to the old guy to get the other dragon spells. Turn Jean into a frog again and go back to TownShip (it's faster because you can take shortcuts as a frog). Check out your new town and get some items from the houses. Go to the Unity Room and unite two of your characters with Sana and Seso (but not Jean, as you will lose him soon). You can cook items with the architect (if you took the one that builds normal houses), but at this point you don't have anything to cook. Go back to the far west end of your map. If you want some experience, here's a quick way to get it: use Jean and turn into the big frog. Head south from the "sleep in the open" place and down the river. You'll fight H. Crabs. Nina's S. Boom can kill them in one hit, and you'll get lots of experience. Do your rolling up points now, because as mentioned earlier, you'll be losing Jean for a while. After you're done getting experience, turn Jean into a frog and swim to the castle in the middle of the lake. Enter and Jean will be captured. Explore the castle, get new equipment, and find the Deluxe Pole. Then go back to the entrance and meet Petape. After you get the Gills, go back to the entrance and head down the stairs. Go in the door on the right and take the boat back to the land. Put a fourth character in your party and return to SimaFort. Go underwater and take the middle door. Go up the stairs to reach the kitchen. Head up and go down the stairs. The Leader will ask you if you want to fight him; do so. Just use T.Drgn and he's toast. Petape will show up and Jean will ask you to go get the royal ring, which he gave to Nimufu. Leave SimaFort via the boat and go to the Witch Tower. You will be sent to the Wild Cat Restaurant. Go there and enter the bathroom. Talk to Nimufu and jump in the toilet (Yes!) Try to pick up the ring. Go north and get the ring. Go up the stairs and return to SimaFort. Give the ring to Jean and Petape will try to prove he is the real Jean, but the impostor Jean (the one that says "Prince Jean" when he talks, the guy that's not the party member) has his own ring. Petape will get Jean (the real one) to challenge the impostor to a cooking contest. You will be taken to the kitchen and Jean will tell you what you need. Go back to the courtyard and talk to the female frog standing near the lake (Fiolina). She will ask you to find Tata, her boyfriend. Go to the prince's bedroom and throw the switch marked with the big arrow. Go through and go up the stairs. Free Tata and return to Fiolina. Tell her you've found Tata and go back to the roof. Talk to Tata and get the windmill key from him. Go into the room on the left and get 1000 bucks from the chest, then go into the windmill. Search the wall between the entrance and the buckets for $3000 (1000 in three different places), then ride the buckets down. Go through the door and the next one. The Gold Fly will attack you. Fight it until it runs. Go back if you need healing, then go through the door on the left. Follow the path until you reach the bridge. Here you'll fight the J. Worm. Ryu should cast T. Drgn on his first turn and subsequently attack, Katt should attack, Rand should hit, Sten should attack or cast Flame, and Nina should cast S. Boom. Don't use Cure 1 or Herbs, as these will not heal you sufficiently. Use HelpBLs, Roasts, or Cure 2. After beating the J. Worm, you'll catch it. Go back and get healed, then return to the dungeon and go right this time. Go through the next door and then head down and left for two chests. Go up twice and you'll be in a room with cockroaches. Try to avoid them as much as possible and head to the lower-left. Go through the doors and pick up the Stamina from the chest, then go up back to the cockroach room and exit to the north. Head up the left side and go under the next wall. Head up around the top and go through the door. Here you'll fight the G. Roach. Beat it the way you did the J. Worm and go back to get healed. Return to the cockroach's room and keep going up. You'll meet up with the Gold Fly again, and this time you get to fight. Use the same strategy you use on the J. Worm and the G. Roach. Return to the kitchen and give the ingredients to Jean. Head upstairs and talk to the cook. Jean (the real one) loses the contest, and Petape threatens to blow up the castle. Go through the north door and down the steps. Enter the bathroom and throw the switch marked by the arrow. Go right and talk to Jean. Enter the next room and the impostor will reveal himself to be Kuwadora and fight you. Use the same strategy on him as you did on the other bosses in SimaFort. He's a lot tougher, though. Don't use Flame, as it barely hurts him. His Shimmy attack will hit all your characters, so don't try to use Renew to bring back dead characters. LifePLs will bring them back full, so those will work. If you lose a character, that's okay. It's more important to keep the ones you do have healed. After you beat him, Jean will explain the purpose of the explosion control and he and Petape will leave. Get the Sole (Soul?) Sword before you leave. Jean will then rejoin the party (whoop-dee-do). Be sure to keep Jean up to a decent level, because later in the game, with the right shamans, he gets much better. Reunion --------------------- Go back to where the food was kept and you will finally find the real thief, Patty. Go up the stairs on the right and get the three chests. Leave SimaFort once and for all (sick of that music yet?). Recognize that music? If you haven't gotten the dragon spell upgrade in the waterfall, do so now, then return to TownShip. At TownShip, unite your characters with Shamans and then talk to Bow. Go to HomeTown and talk to the guard outside Trout's house. Enter and search the house. Go downstairs and come back up. Talk to Trout and leave. Kilgore will show up and ask you to bring Bow to him. Go back to TownShip and get Bow, but he's still at the level he was when you last had him. DUUUHHHHH!!! Return to HomeTown and put Bow in the lead. Go to Kilgore's house and talk to Kilgore. He will ask you to go and find out what Trout is up to. Choose go with Bow and you will suddenly be in a fight. Beat up the guy and enter Trout's house. The fights in here are really easy, so you may want to get Bow up a couple of levels before proceeding. Go down the steps and come back up. Trout will open the secret door. Go down the "secret" set of steps and talk to Patty. Trout will return and you will get into a fight. Bow should attack and Ryu should cast T.Drgn, then attack. You can probably kill him in two rounds. After you kill Trout, you'll free Patty and then have to sit through a lot of dialogue, after which you'll be sent to find the Grass Man to find out why all the trees in Gate died. Whale Cape --------------------- Go back towards SimaFort and head south as a frog. If you can get Jean up to level 14, you'll be able to use Warp spell to quickly go between SimaFort and TownShip. Anyway, head to the south from SimaFort, and when you reach the shore, turn east. Enter the house and put Katt in the party. Go into the house and talk to the man. Go past him and down into Whale Cave. Have Katt whack the gate open and jump in the pit. Talk to Maiyoru and Tree and Ton will tell you about the stone doll. Head north and have Katt hit the Adam's apple. Enter the next room and head up along the far right. Get the chest and then head back down, taking the first passage left. Go up to the top of this room and head left for another chest, then continue to the next room. Take the first turn right and head all the way up for PwrFood, then go back down and go up the middle. Go up again and head to the upper-left of this room. Have Katt whack the door open and get the powerful GoldAR. Leave the room and go through the other door. Keep going up until you encounter Munmar. Have Ryu cast T. Drgn and then attack; Katt attack; Sten cast Flame or attack; Rand heal, attack, or use Wake to bring back people Munmar puts to sleep; Jean heal (with items) or attack; Nina heal (S. Boom is very ineffective); and Bow heal or attack. He isn't that hard. After the fight, return to the Adam's apple at the beginning and have Katt whack it. Grandpa will wake up and you will be shot out. Grandpa will agree to let you ride him. You will automatically be taken to Whale Beach. Talk to Maiyoru in the cave and he will give you the Whale Bell. You can now call Grandpa at any beach and swim around the ocean! Spar --------------------- The first order of business is to swim around and fill in your map. Then head to the lower-right beach (it's at the desert) and get off. Walk up to the little circle north of the beach and enter. This is Bleu's home. Talk to the ghosts and then go back to HomeTown. Go to M. School and go upstairs. Talk to the lower-left person here, who is actually Bleu. Bleu will then join your party. You will now want to get some people for TownShip if you haven't already. For house #1, you can get Hekkeller, in the house next to yours in HomeTown, who has a good store with fire equipment, or Kay, in the church in Coursair, who makes you immune to poison. For house #2, get Leminton, in the inn of Capitan, for a decent armory (but obsolete later) or MacClean, at Whale Beach, who has a secret fishing spot. For house #3, get Baretta in the armory of Windia for an armory that starts off really bad but gets good later in the game, or Azusa at Mt. Fubi, who takes you to a secret hunting spot. If you want to take Baretta, do so right away so her stock gets better sooner. Once you've filled all three houses, you can expand the town to get more people later in the game. Swim to Guntz. You can get good (but very spendy) equipment here, and buy a stock of ShaveIces. At the top-most house, you can get Karashinikofu (yes I am), who opens an armory in house #4, but there's somebody who's better later. Before you continue, there's an easy way to get experience. Take Grandpa to the topmost isle (where Pagoda was in the first game). It's due north from Gate (although you can't swim directly north). Bo and Karn from the first game are in the house, but they don't seem to do anything. Here you'll fight giant, blown-up enemies that give you hordes of experience for beating them. This is a good way to get Bow up to a normal level. To kill the Gongheads, use Bow's Shot attack or fight normally; A. Sludges can be defeated by having Bleu (or Nina, later) cast Death; and Chorkings can be killed by using a ShaveIce. K. Sludges are very rare and very tough, but pay off great if you can beat them. Use dragon magic and other strong spells. You probably can't kill them at this point. Be sure to get Bleu up a level, so she will learn the Fireball spell. When you've done your point-rolling-up, go to Tunlan. Get new gear and visit the carnival, where Spar (the Grass Man) is being held. Pay and enter. Talk to the guy standing in front of Spar's cage and he will tell you to catch an Uparupa to save Spar. Leave the carnival and take Grandpa (or the Warp spell) to Windia. Go to the Monster Hunter's Lodge between Windia and Capitan. Make sure Bleu is in your party. Pass through the lodge and go into the forest behind it. Walk up until you fight the boss, Algernon. This is the toughest boss you'll be fighting for a long time. Ryu should cast FirDrgn, then attack; Bow and Rand should heal or attack; Sten should cast Flame until he runs out of AP, then attack; Katt should attack; Bleu should cast Fireball; and Nina should cast her best spell. Only attack Algernon, as Danielle and Suiky will just keep coming back. Always heal if you need it, and have the characters that go first do the healing if possible. After the fight (tough!) pick all the Owl Fruits and get healed. Then call Grandpa and follow the coastline north from HomeTown until you come to the bridge leading to Coursair. There's a small cave here. Enter. In the Uparupa Cave, head to the upper left and go up the ramp. Enter the cave and get the QuartrST for Katt, then go back down and up the ramp to the right for Gold fishing bait. Head to the door in the upper right and follow the path until you come to two doors. Go down to get the OceanRB for Nina or Bleu, then go through the upper door. You'll find a bunch of fish here. Talk to them and get info on how to catch an Uparupa (or just read the walkthrough). Don't buy the Uparupa food one of the fish wants to sell you, you have plenty. Go into the next room and head to the top of the cliffs. In the center of the room are two Uparupa lairs side by side. Put an Owlfruit in front of the lair on the right and walk away. When the Uparupa grabs the Owlfruit, run over and attack it. Make sure to wait until the Uparupa's grabbed the fruit. Just use T. Drgn and it's toast. Set it free and it will give you the BusterSD. Leave the room and come back in. Open the chest again for the CharmSH. Then return to Tunlan. Go to the carnival and talk to the guy. Tell him you brought him nothing and you'll get into a fight. Of course, the guy turns out to be a demon (must be something going around). Fire attacks are very effective on him. Ryu should FirDrgn; Katt attack; Sten, Nina, and Bleu cast Flame; Rand, Jean, and Bow heal or attack. When you beat him, Spar will join you. You now have every character! The Great Wise Tree --------------------- Before you do anything else, GET SPAR SOME BETTER EQUIPMENT (Bum'sCL just won't cut it) and roll up some experience for him at Bo and Karn's island. Put Spar in the party and head back to Whale Beach. Use Spar to walk through the forest to the south until you come to the Great Wise Tree (it's bigger than all the other trees). Go up to it and talk to it. Gandaroof (that's the G.W.T.'s name) will send you to get the Therapy Pillow from Tunlan. Go to Tunlan and talk to the guy standing near the entrance to find out about the Famous Flute of Highfort. Put Sten in your party. Make sure he is at a normal level, because there is a place where you can only use him. Take the whale to the desert and land on the peninsula at the west end. Stay out of the desert as much as possible and go up the cliffs to Highfort. At Highfort, have Sten swing across. Enter and talk to Gayne. Sten will leave the party. Go north to the top of the castle and meet Shupkay. She will drop you into a pit. You now switch back to Sten. Go down the stairs and get the equipment, then head up to the town area. Buy any items you need, save the game, and go up. You'll encounter Trubo and get into a fight. Just fight until Trubo blows up the bridge. Fight Trubo and you will land at the base of Highfort. Trubo will tell you about Shupkay and leave. The door you are standing by has a healing fountain, a Dragon God statue, and the passage back to Highfort. After saving and healing, head left and cross the bridge. The door here leads into the dungeon. Get all the chests in the rooms and go up the steps. Take the left path for money, then go up the right steps and swing across the gaps. In the next room, take the set of stairs second from the right. Go down and follow the path to the last room. Step on the teleporter and go up the steps. You will be behind the throne room. Go down the steps on the left. Take the passages on the left and right for equipment, then go up the middle and you will encounter Shupkay and Elforan (the Princess). Shupkay will drop Sten into a pit, where you will encounter Ryu and the other characters. Head north and you will enter a room with circular paths. Head left, then right at the next intersection. Go down and then right. Skip the path going up and circle around to the stairs. On the next floor, follow the path until you reach an intersection in the lower left. Go left to reach a healing fountain and the MoonMask via the teleporter. Turn up at the intersection and then go down. Follow the path to reach the stairs. Take the middle teleporter (unless you need healing, then take the one on the left to go back to the healing fountain). You'll meet up with Trubo again, then take on the Portal. Don't use magic on the Portal, it will just heal it (dragon spells are okay). Have everybody attack, and your magic users (Spar, Nina, and Bleu) heal or use stat-boosting spells on the rest of your party. When you beat the Portal, go back to the three-teleporter room and warp back to the healing fountain. Return to where the Portal was and keep going until you reach two sets of stairs. Take the one on the left for the Collar, then go up the one on the right. Go up the next set of stairs and you will encounter Shupkay and Elforan and take on Shupkay. Shupkay will use Hush to keep you from casting spells, so have Hushed magic users do the healing while the rest of the party hits, or have them use equipment or items that cast spells. Shupkay will also drain your AP, so you won't get to use magic on her. Make sure to cast T.Drgn on Ryu's first turn. After the battle, you'll get the Famous Flute. Leave Highfort and go back to Tunlan. Talk the people and find out about the queen. You'll be sent to find Gedd. Take Grandpa to the island just north of HomeTown and TownShip. Enter Mt. Maori and go in the cave. Put Katt or Nina in the lead and talk to Gedd. Return to Tunlan and talk to the queen. Go back to Maori Island with Sten and talk to Gedd's assistant. Note what mushroom he shows you and then leave the cave and head left. Skip the first cave and enter the second one for a MoonDrop. Go back to the first cave and open the two chests for the ThornWP and a CureAl. Then head out the door, cross the waterfall, and go in the cave. Enter the room for a FlameSD (although the BusterSD's better) and then head left. Go out the door and jump down the waterfall to get the HushRG. Enter the cave again and get the FlameSH on the upper ledge. Head left and take the first door you come to. Get the MagmaAR and go through the next door to the peak. Get the mushroom that Gedd's assistant showed you (it's the rightmost one on the island you have to swing to). Give it to his assistant and get the Mirror. Return to Tunlan and talk to Gedd. You will be warped into the Queen's body. In each room, walk around and fight enemies until the monster indicator guy on the menu screen is sleeping. When you kill all the enemies in one quadrant, Gedd will let you know. If you need to leave, use the Mirror. There's no boss here. Once you kill all the enemies, you leave the Queen's body. Go downstairs and get the Therapy Pillow from the treasure room. Return to the Great Wise Tree and use the Therapy Pillow to warp into his mind (which has a very cool background). Go into the town you're standing by and look around. Buy better stuff at the "Bank" because you're not coming back. Head east to the next town and talk to everybody. Go up to the final town and talk. In the Inn, you meet Barose, who is a very useful person for house #4 in TownShip. Take him (you will have had to expand your town after filling Houses 1-3). You can leave Gandaroof's mind if you want to now. If you took Barose (you should have), he will teach you magic, but only if you have 1 HP and 0 AP. The easiest way to get 1 HP is to get poisoned (Chorkings on Monster Island poison you) and then just walk around at some safe place like outside TownShip until you're at 1 HP (you can't go below 1 from poisoning). He will teach you the Missile spell. If he offers to teach you some other spell, just say no and keep trying until he offers Missile. All the characters can learn this very powerful spell, but he will only teach it four times. I recommend giving it to Nina, Spar, Bow, and Jean or Rand. Sten and Bleu learn it naturally. Go back to the first town in Gandaroof's mind, which is now a dungeon. This level is odd because you can't see what's close to you, although you can see what's far away. Pay attention to what you're doing and study the area around you before you start walking around. Go up around the left and talk to the old guy. Pay him 100 coins to have him show you to the stairs. Pay him again and you'll go to two chests, which contain the AutoBW and the EarthAR. Talk to him again and you'll leave the dungeon. Go back in and have the guy take you to the stairs. Go up. Go up the next stairs and head to the lower left. Open the chest for MisoSoup (boosts wisdom), then go up the stairs in the upper left. Head down for money, then go up and right. Go up again for the HeroBT, then go down until you can't anymore. Head right all the way and down for BlndedML (it's a shield). Go up and follow the path to the stairs. The next floor is a no-brainer, then go through the door to meet Aruhamel, who is responsible for destroying everyone's memory in Gate. Aruhamel is easy. He'll make you forget your magic, but he hardly ever hits you, and when he does, he doesn't hit that hard. Just pound on him and use T.Drgn and he'll die. Afterwards, have Spar use Exit to get out of the memory tower and go back to the child village. Go to the Bank to leave Gandaroof's mind. Put Spar in the lead and talk to Gandaroof. Skytower --------------------- Head south from Gandaroof to Fog Valley. Talk to the guy there and he'll tell you to go to Skytower. Take Grandpa to the tower floating in the water southeast of SimaFort. Talk to the fish. You only have 3 minutes of air, so hurry and read what to do before you go down. Head west and go down first for money, then go up. Follow the path and go up the stairs. Keep going until you reach a room with circling water. What you need to do here is walk up the water flowing down. When you're above the stairs, hold right. You'll slide down and walk up the steps. Get the three chests for an IceSH, FrozenAR, and the NorthDR. Go up again and meet Spoo, the Wind Shaman, who was causing the fog. Cast Exit (or walk back out if you don't have it) and go back to TownShip to unite Spoo with somebody. You could just go to Fog Valley now, but Skytower has some good chests and a store in it. So go back to Skytower and head east this time. The first door here contains a fish selling some pretty good equipment. After the fish, follow the path to stairs. Go down and head right and up. The door contains the powerful GoblinSD, and on the far left is the wimpy SpiritRB. After that, you're done, so get the heck out of there. Head back to Fog Valley, (now it's just plain Valley). This is a really sad dungeon. Just take a few steps south and you're through. Before you continue, make sure Rand is at a decent level. Namanda --------------------- Go south to FarmTown and stock up on items. Put Rand in your party and go up to the building at the top. Try to go in the middle door and a messenger from the St. Eva's Church will come out. Go in and through the door. Put Rand in the lead and talk to Daisy (Rand's mother). Daisy will order you to clear the field. Walk up to each obstacle and destroy it (it won't fight back). Then attack the rock in the upper-right, which is actually the Stone Golem. Ryu should cast T.Drgn and attack; Katt and Sten attack; Nina cast Freeze or Hail if she has it; Bleu cast her best spell; Spar use Ag-Up and Def-Up and heal; Rand and Bow attack or heal; and Jean (like anybody actually uses him) attack. His Fireball spell is very powerful, so cast Shield if you have it. After you beat the Stone Golem, go back inside. Daisy will send you to Namanda to pray for a good harvest. Leave town and head west to the coast. Turn north and walk up onto the cliff. Enter Namanda (the little cave to the south). In Namanda, walk through the first two rooms and then go left. Go into the room and talk to everybody. Then go into the room on the right and donate 2000 coins. Leave Namanda and go back to FarmTown. Return to TownShip and unite Rand if he isn't already, then go to Daisy's field and talk to the St. Eva guy there with Rand in the lead. Rand will get into a fight with him. This fight is pretty simple since you only have one guy. Just hit the Paladin until you get low, then heal with a Roast or Extract. Remember, he goes first since Rand's so slow. After the fight, Ray will show up and he and the messenger will leave. Rand will decide to go to the Grand Church to find Daisy. The Great Bird --------------------- Go back to Windia. If Nina is below level 30, then head to Monster Island and get her up some levels. Talk to the guard at the castle with Nina in the lead. Enter and talk to Hina. Go upstairs and up the stairs on the left. Talk to the King, then go back downstairs and head to the lower right. Go through the now-open gate and into the Sky Cave. Head left and then turn up. Follow the path and go down two flights of steps. Take the middle of the three passages going right, then go down the passage on the left until you come to some stairs. Keep going up until you're back in the castle. Get the very powerful StormRG for Nina and then go back to the very beginning of Sky Cave. Take the stairs leading down on the left side this time and you'll come to a room with water. Put Nina in the lead, walk up to the statue, and agree to take the test. You may have to walk around several times to get the rocks to move in the right place. If you die, you're just taken back to the rest of the party (who is fully healed) so you can just heal Nina and take the test over again. Head to the lower right and circle the lower-right platform once, then go up onto the platform directly above it. Get the WindBR, then go to the lower left. Circle around the bottom of the platform, then back around over the top. Go up the passage on the left (not the platform) and get the powerful WindRB. Go back down and head up the platform to the right. Make sure you're healed up (magic-wise, too -- but don't use WiseBLs) and then go through the door. You'll meet the Guardian and end up in a fight. Have Nina cast her best spell on the Guardian and heal if necessary (you may not need to). Nina gets to go first, so you don't have to worry about healing so much. With Missile (which you get from Barose), you can kill it in two hits. After the fight, the Guardian will turn to out to be Nina's great great great great grandmother, the Nina from BOF1 and you get the Mark of the Wing. Forgive Nina (the BOF1 Nina) and leave the test by talking to the middle statue. Leave the Sky Cave and go back to the King. Talk to him with Nina in the lead. During the night, Mina will steal the Mark of the Wing. Go to the Ceremonial Tower and ascend. Mina will become the Great Bird. You can now fly by putting Nina in the lead and hitting Y. St. Eva's Church --------------------- You can now go to Evrai (the home of the Grand Church), but there's a few things you should do first. Go back into Windia and head through the far-right door on the lower floor of the castle. Get the three chests, which contain a Van.Ext, a Moon Drop, and the SilverHT. Now fly to the island Evrai is on (do NOT enter Evrai) and go in the small building. Get the CharmRod upstairs. You can now finally do some decent fishing, and get the chests you may have seen. You can get the LifeAR (the best armor in the game) west of Gate, the EmpireSD (the best sword) south-east of TownShip, and the LoveBR (restores HP with each step) on Monster Island. On a small island to the west of the desert continent, you can buy some very powerful (and expensive) armor. You can also buy good armor and weapons by fishing in the right spots with Gold bait. Maniro (he looks like Gobi from BOF1, so that's what I'll call him) will show up. Catch him and he'll sell you items. Check the fishing spots list. Then fly to Evrai and enter. Explore the town (be sure to get the rare WiseBL) and try to leave. You'll be warped back in. Go to Claris's house (the big one) and talk to her. She will show you the secret pasage in the toilet. Jump in. You'll fight tough Kimairas (Chimaeras?) in here (one heck of a toilet), which can almost kill you in one hit, and take at least 3 rounds to beat. If you need healing, go back and talk to Claris, and there's an item shop in one of the houses (a fish, of course). Go through the first door, then head to the upper right of the next room. Take the left passage and go through the door. Head up the stairs and you'll be back in the inn near Evrai. Leave and fly to CotLnd. Put Katt in the lead and have her break through the rocks. Go into the house on the left and talk to Tiga. He will send you to find the resistance's sponsor, who went to the Thieves' Tomb. Fly there (it's in the desert in the lower-right). Enter and go down the steps. Dodge the moving holes and open the four chests for a SunMask, BananaDR, ThunderGL, and DoubleWP. If you fall in a hole, just take the stairs back up. To get the two chests on the right, go up the stairs first and then come back down to reset the holes. After grabbing the chests, jump in a hole or go down the stairs. Talk to the old man for an explanation of this floor. The effects of the tiles only occur after a fight, so you can pick a fight on the good squares to get healed. Get into a fight before you cross a series of bad squares. To the south is the KramerBR, then head east and up to the exit, or get warped via a yellow face. Enter the next room and free Patty, the sponsor. Go up and search the chest to make a hidden door appear. Go through and get the evidence (evidence of what?). Leave and fly back to CotLnd. You'll get into a fight with Tiga. There's no way to win this fight (as far as I know) so don't even try. After the battle, Katt will leave your party. Go back to TownShip to put somebody else in, then fly to Bando (it's in the lower-left corner of the map). Be sure to have LOTS of HelpBLs, WFruits, LifePLs, and Smokes first. At Bando, talk to Tiga and Katt will open a secret passage. Enter and you're in one hard dungeon. Use Smokes to reduce the number of fights, which are very tough and frequent. You could use Ryu's Smoke spell, but you want to save his MP for dragon spells. If you have Sten, unite him with Sana and Spoo to give him the Sweh ability, which changes the enemies in a fight. Head north and defeat the Paladin with your strongest attacks (you will probably want to cast Def-Up or Def-UpX if you have them). Go back and heal, then keep going north and go down the steps. You can use the arrow switches to move the door. The first room has nothing (yet), the second one contains the SnakeST for Katt when you get her back, the 3rd and 4th ones contain prisoners (no point in going in there) and the 5th one has stairs down. Downstairs, head down and up the stairs if you want 1000 bucks (probably not). Going north takes you to the stairs down. Head down and right to encounter Father Manson. Heal your HP and MP before walking across the bridge. Manson will summon three Zombies. Use spells that hit all the enemies to beat them (but save your dragon magic for Manson). After defeating them, you take on Manson / Necroman. Ryu should use FirDrgn and then attack; Sten should cast Fireball (fire spells do big damage to him); Rand should heal or cure any characters Manson turns into zombies; Nina should cast her best spell; Bleu should cast Fireball (even if she has later spells); Jean should attack; and Spar should heal. After the battle, get the chest that appears for the EvraiRD, which allows you to go in and out of Evrai. Fly to Evrai and enter. Go to Claris's house and talk to everyone (but don't jump in the toilet). Claris is missing. Talk to Tiga and you will go to the Grand Church. The paladin will ask you the real name of St. Eva's god. The answer is Evans (no, I have no idea how you're supposed to know that). Enter and go up to the main room. Habaruku will show up. Tiga will attack him, and he and Claris die. Katt rejoins your party. Follow Habaruku and you'll meet up with Ray, who turns into a dragon and attacks you. Fight him normally until the battle stops and a dragon appears. Have Ryu cast the G.Drgn spell he now has, the strongest dragon spell. Ray dies. Leave and get healed, then fly to Bando again. Go into the dungeon (there are enemies down here) and go back to the hall with the moving door, which no longer moves. Go through the door and get Seny, the Holy Shaman. Return to TownShip and unite her with somebody (uniting her with Jean turns him from a total moron into a kick-butt character with the insane Chop attack), then go back to Evrai with Rand. Pass through the room where Ray was and go up the steps. Circle around and go up the stairs and you'll find Daisy. Free her and talk to her with Rand in the lead. Break through the wall by hitting Y and go up the stairs. Get the money and the junky ElementAR and go up again. Break down the wall with Rand the wall will start to slide in. Daisy will show up and save Rand but gets killed. On the next floor, get the BlastKN for Rand and go up the stairs to the roof. Habaruku will send an archer after you. Kick his butt (you can probably kill him in one turn) and you have to fight another one. Kill him and chase Habaruku. You will fall down to the basement. Take the bottom of the four paths and take the stairs back to the entry hall. Leave and get healed, and take Rand out of your party if you want. In the room with the four passages, take the upper one for the DmndBR (protects you from Death), then go through the door on the left one. Get the RainbwRB (it's not as good as a MotherRB) and go up the stairs. This is an unusual room. You have to guide the platform with the arrow tiles. First, use the right arrow on the lower left, then use the up arrow above that, then the right arrow to its right. Use the right arrow above the previous one, then use either down arrow, then other one. Stand on the up arrow in the lower right and you will be able to walk over to the chest with CrmsnCL, almost as good as a MotherRB. Jump off the edge and come back up. This time, go right, up, right, down, up, and right to the stairs. Go down and through the door. Walk through the eyes, which will shoot you (there's nothing you can do about it except heal -- make sure to do this part-way through or you will lose your unities). Head up and it's now time to take on the hardest boss of the game. What you have to do here is destroy the three Guardeyes without hurting the old man (Ganer, your father). Don't use any spells that damage more than one target (including dragon spells other than the Puppies). First attack the upper-right eye, which heals the other eyes, then the bottom one, then the left one. Each eye has 500 HP, so when one is low, have some characters attack the next one or your attacks will default onto Ganer. I hope you have plenty of items, because you're going to need them. When (if) you win, Ganer teleports you out of Evrai, and it explodes. Gate --------------------- Go down the well in TownShip and through the door. Check out the machine and go to Guntz. Head to the top-most building and walk between the rows of bookshelves and you will enter a secret room. Talk to Eichichi and ask her to examine the machine. Go back to TownShip and descend into the well. Talk to Eichichi and Ganer will show up to power the machine, which allows TownShip to fly. Fly back to FarmTown and go to the field to get Solo, the Earth Shaman (you had to have donated 2000 coins earlier at Namanda). If you want a challenge, go to the left room in Namanda and play the bells with the guy. If you do it right, you get a spell which halves an enemy's HP. Head into the forest north of town (looks familiar, doesn't it?) and talk to Father Hulk. The villagers will set off a bomb to move the dragon and release the demons it was guarding. Hulk will send you to find Patty. Go over to the dragon's right claw (on the left) and enter the cave. Get the final shaman, Shin, the Devil Shaman, then get the heck out of there. Return to CotLnd and talk to the one lone guy there. He'll tell you that Patty went to a restaurant. Go back to the Wild Cat Restaurant and you'll be sent to the Thieves' Tomb. The guy in the lower-right there will tell you that Patty went to a new town (he calls it HomeTown, but he means TownShip). Go to TownShip and go to Ryu's room (middle room, first floor of rooms). Patty will run off. Go back to Gate and talk to Father Hulk. Hulk turns out to be Habaruku, who explains about the gates, and then turns into an octopus (?) and attacks. Use G.Drgn and then have Ryu attack; Katt use Keep if she is united with Shin or otherwise attack; Sten attack; Nina and Bleu use their best spells; Jean attack; Rand and Bow attack or heal; and Spar heal, use stat-boosting spells, or cast Shield. Habaruku spends most of his time draining your MP or doing other stupid things, so you should be able to beat him without any trouble. After the battle, you will be asked whether you want to open the gate. Choose to defeat the demon. The dragon will turn into Valerie, your mother and the middle gate opens. You can now enter Infinity, the final dungeon. Infinity --------------------- Before you go to Infinity, there are a few things you should do if you haven't done them first. If you need money or experienece, you can get it in the first room of Infinity, or on Monster Island. Otherwise, don't go into Infinity until you've done the following: - Made TownShip fly. - Recruited everybody for your town (for house #5, I recommend Hanz, in the house where Hekkeler was -- next to yours in HomeTown; and in house #6, take Daiye, in the inn of Windia, who sells fish). - Found all the Shamans. - Characters you plan on using should be around level 40. - Obtained a supply of Extracts/Roasts, LifePLs, Smokes, and WFruits. - Found the EmpireSD and LifeAR. - Bought the best equipment you can get for characters you're planning to use. - Had four characters learn Missile from Barose if you have him. - Gotten AP from Bockden and/or Yozo if you have them. You will need Sten to get some chests, and he cannot be in his Sana/Spoo form. You may or may not want to use Smokes in Infinity. It will save you some fights, but you'll get less experience. You will need to be at level 50 or so to beat the game, but there is a town partway through where you can roll up points. You can also use Nina's Banish ability (with Spoo and Seny) to make the enemies run. Anyway, when you're ready, enter Infinity and circle around the right. Go down the steps. If you have Sten (you should for right now), swing across the gap and go down another level. If you don't, walk around the bottom. On the third level, head right and get the chest for a ShinyBR and go down the stairs. Head down, turn right, and swing across the gap. Get the BusterBW, Bow's best weapon, and swing back across. Go down and head left. Skip the door and the steps and head up the left for the NatureWP, the best weapon for Spar. You can now take Sten out of your party. Go down the steps on the second level and head up to get a Stamina. Then go back up the steps and through the door on the second level to get the ShinyHT. Go down both flights of steps and circle around. Go down one set of stairs and circle around for PwrFood, then descend to the middle and go down the stairs. Head north and through the door for the HeroAR and a MotherRB, then head left and get the CrsntSD for Jean. Return to the stairs and go down the ramp. Go up and left and go down the stairs, then continue down through six more flights to a huge series of ledges. If you need a SunMask and/or HolySH, head down and left until you come to the HolySH, then go up and left for the SunMask. Return to the stairs and go down and right. When the path branches up and down, go up and get the ImortlRG, then go down on the right for the ShadowDR for Sten. Head up a little ways and go left until you reach a fork in the road. Equip the fork on Ryu (just kidding). Take the path on the right and get the DreamBR, which protects you from spells (sometimes). Go right and down. Follow the path all the way left, getting the FinalKN for Rand along the way. Go down and you'll finally reach the stairs. Just walk straight down and you'll reach Dologany. You're now in the dragon town Dologany (I don't suppose tourism is one of their main industries). You will be taken to the Elder's house and told about Deathevn, the final boss. Talk to Martin, your grandfather (the other guy) and walk out of the room. You will now be playing as Valerie. Talk to everyone and go back into the house where you started. Talk to Martin and the Elder and you will go to Gate. Go to the church and talk to Ganer. Go upstairs and talk to Ryu. Go downstairs. Leave the church and go to the gate. You will finally be back to your party. Talk to everyone to find about Ray (who is a descendant of Jade from BOF1 -- he even looks like him) and Patty (who is your sister Yua). In the lower right house, there is an inn and an item store (like you'd want fishing bait down here or something). You can also save and switch characters. Then go through the lower door and step on the elevator. You'll be in Infinity again, except now it has a red background. If you cast Exit here, you'll be taken back to Dologany. To leave the dungeon totally, go back into the first part and cast Exit, but then you'll have to go all the way back through. Go down and take the path leading up on the right. Enter the room. Get healed at the fountain and talk to all the people. Talk to the red guy in the middle and you will be warped to another room. Go in each room and one of your characters will join you. Walk up to the end of the hall and talk to that character again. Once you've been in all the rooms, talk to the wise man of the dragon again. Go into the room he was guarding and talk to yourself. Go back out and talk to the wise man again. He will tell you to sacrifice one of your friends. Go back into the room with Ryu in it and talk to him again. Keep saying "no" until he knocks you out. You will learn the Anfini spell, which doesn't really do anything except in the last battle. Note that you've lost any unities you had, so you may want to Exit out and go back to TownShip to get your characters re-united. Back in Infinity, take the lower-left path in the red area to get Noe'sRB, then go back to the main intersection and head down and right to get to the stairs. You're now in a weird gray section. Go through the door and get the RiotST for Katt to the left, then head right. Go through the door and down the stairs. Go down and into the room for the HolyRP, Jean's best weapon. Leave and take the upper path to the left until you come to the next room, which has a (non-functional) teleporter in the middle. The upper-right room here contains the DragonSH for Ryu, but it's not as strong as the MedusaSH. The door in the lower-left on the top wall takes you to the stairs. Go down to the bottom of this room and you'll find a Dragon God statue. The stairs down here take you to the DragonSD, which is worse than the EmpireSD. At the top of the room, you can find the DragonAR, which again is worse than the LifeAR, but only by 2, so you may want to give the DragonAR to Ryu (he's the only one who can use it) and the LifeAR to Sten or Jean if you're using them. Stand on the teleporter in the center of this room and head up and right. Go up the steps and the next set. Go through the door to find a handy healing fountain. Go west and up the stairs. The chest here has a HolySH if you need it. Go up the stairs and right to get the DragonHT for Ryu, the strongest helmet. Retrace your steps to the room you teleported into and teleport back to the Dragon God statue. Roll up points until you're around level 50. Save your game, then teleport again. Go through the door you arrive by and equip the LifeAR on Ryu, even if someone else was using it. Walk up until Barubary (the guy from the intro) appears. Fight him and, after a short time, the fight will end. Barubary will ask you if you want to fight him alone. Choose to and you will get healed for free. I hope you've been saving those WiseBLs, because this is where you need them. The only way you can beat him is to cast G. Drgn 4 times. Remember, he gets to go before you. If you die, RESET IT! Otherwise, you will have wasted the WiseBLs. If you don't have WiseBLs, you can slowly restore your AP with WFruits, or just hit him. He has 4,000 HP, so you could just use G. Drgn 3 times and then hit him until he dies. When you beat him, he gives you the mysterious message "turn right and walk forward for your treasure." The next room has a Dragon God statue and a healing fountain. You may want to go back to TownShip and get re-Shamaned, but then you'll have to hike all the way back here. It's up to you. Step on the teleporter and you'll be taken to a big room. Down and to the left is the useless KingHT. In the upper-left of this chamber is the final room, where you'll meet Evan. Evan will kill your other three characters and freeze Ryu. Tap any direction repeatedly to break out. Walk up and follow Evan. Ryu will automatically kill him, but Evan returns as Deathevn. When the battle begins, immediately cast Anfini (if you don't have Anfini, you're in big trouble). This will bring back the other characters. Ryu should cast G.Drgn and use any remaining WiseBLs, then attack; Bow should heal; Rand should heal or attack; Katt should attack or use Keep (with Shin); Nina should heal with items or use Missile or Bolt X; Sten should attack or heal with items; Jean should attack; Spar should cast Def-UpX and heal or cast Shield; and Bleu should use Missile or Bolt X or use Atk-Up on hitting characters. Deathevn takes a long time to beat, but he's not that hard. You shouldn't have any trouble if you have plenty of items. When you beat Deathevn, you get to watch the lengthy ending.
