It's
about time I updated this feature. It sure is hard to find unusual stuff
worth posting, but with a little perseverance, I dug up a few interesting
items. On with the show!
Final Fantasy IV
Not too much on this disc other than the videos, but the graphics used
in the PlayStation additions are viewable. The sprites are interesting
because they're in a different color pallete... I presume that new pallettes
are applied later on in game. Although we already knew that Final Fantasy
games used color swapping!
Chrono Trigger
This disc has some interesting stuff... in the first part there seems
to be several shots of the characters doing things... I haven't seen all
the endings, so I don't know if they're from the endings, but it might
be a possibility. But more interesting from a technical standpoint is
that the disc has images of just about every area in the game. It's kind
of pointless to reproduce them, but it's interesting that they're there!
Front Mission 3
Another cool disc... you can see the hundreds of unique character portraits
in the game and all the images from the web... I find the presence of
the marked out Photoshop start up screen amusing. And I was disappointed
to find every main character has three angry expressions, not just Kazuki.
So much for that theory.
UmJammer Lammy
I wish I could've found more of the textures from this one, but you can
see that the moving parts are pasted over the characters to simulate them
talking (kind of like the Front Mission 3 portraits above)... and the
donuts were obviously inspired by PJ Berri. I mean, come on.
And a special bonus for all of you! A version of No Cuttin' Corners without
Lammy's guitar playing. Enjoy!
